This particular nail art is yet again ... personal. Yes, it is a floral nail design because I wanted it to be. Because I want a reminder that life is both ups and downs. You see, I had high hope when 2016 came. I was supposed to take on a new challenge but decided otherwise. Since then, I've felt that perhaps I made a wrong call, yet again. And now, I find myself in a crossroad and I feel bound to do what is right and set aside my emotions. Am not sure how long I can take it, but I'd like to see this through ... until I can't anymore.

I've been wearing this nail art for about a week now and it is surprisingly still decent despite doing household chores. No awkward chipping yet. I take it as a sign that the universe is trying to cheer me up. My life has been blue. You know what I mean. So anyway, I called this piece of art, Don't Be Blue.

Nail Art: For the Love of Abstract

Some say that miracles happen during new year and I think it's true because by some miracle, I was able to do some nail art. Finally! Before I mumble anything else here, how about I greet all of you a very Happy New Year! I'm claiming 2016 as my year, the year I'll be turning 40! Yay! I can't wait for my life to begin.

So to kick start the year, I decided to do some abstract nail art. I find these designs very timeless and classy. Check this out:

Nail Art: Violets are Blue

Roses are red, violets are blue
No one will ever love you, as much as I do

You've probably recognized that stanza from a famous poem everyone seems to know. I thought it would be dramatic (LOL) if I'd use part of that ryhme to name this abstract nail art. I did a violet ombre design that is simple and easy to do. This is not entirely unique as I have used this technique before in one of my previous nail arts. So I'll stop the rambling and just let you take a look at it first:

Nail Art: No Direction

I share with you another abstract nail art. Abstract has always been my go-to for times when I don't have anything specific in mind for a nail design because I can just let brush strokes be spontaneous.

Often, my manicures have a some sort of a story behind it. I mean, it tells how I feel or what message I want to bring across. I take nail art to be very personal, that it tells a bit about myself. Allow me first to show you what I came up with before anything else:

Nail Art: Flowers on the Side

There are several nail polishes sitting on my polish rack that still needs to be used. So the other night, I decided to scan through them and decided to use one for this particular floral nail art. I didn't have any idea in mind yet for the design. I just wanted to be spontaneous. After I did my manicure, I figured I wanted something dainty. I guess something floral will do the trick. I've painted quite a few with this nail design that you can check out here, here, and here. Yes, you can say that this is one of my several nail art designs that I never get tired of recreating. I'm sure most of you can relate to that. ;)

Nail Art: Rainbow After the Rain

It's officially rainy season in my part of the world and although it has been causing flood and terrible traffic problems, one thing I look forward to is the possibility of seeing a rainbow after every rain shower. I seriously need some rainbow into my rainy life as well. Unfortunately, this colorful arc seems elusive, to me at least. So I decided to create one on my nails for that much needed cheer.

I believe I have done a few rainbow inspired nail art over the years and this is probably one inspiration that I will not get tired off. This freehand nail design is easy to do and looks quite attractive on the nails.

An Invitation For a Nail Art Workshop

Hey, did you miss me? :)

I'll be back on my toes with more nail art soon. Nail Art: Blue Hoo

Please don't hate me. I am struggling with a lot of things lately and it seems like everything is on a downward spiral. But the thing is, my passion to do my nails has a lot to do with the way I feel. A dampened spirit is not such a good motivation for some personal nail art session. Fortunately, I was going to a meeting as a nail art blogger and I didn't want my nails to be bare. And as I uploaded the photos, I realized that I did another blue themed design very similar to the last one I shared. When you are blue, it is inevitable to unconsciously wear blue?

A badly broken nail is a sure blow on my spirit. I know that some nail bloggers would agree. It has been more than 2 weeks and although one particular nail is taking forever to grow back to the length I want, it has become decent to be shaped for a nail art. So here I am with an abstract nail design and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you'll like it.
